Reading Rockets offers a wealth of reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better. Our reading resources assist parents, teachers, and other educators in working with struggling readers who require additional help in reading fundamentals and comprehension skills development.
Beverly Cleary
When children ask Beverly Cleary where she finds her ideas, she replies, "From my own experience and from the world around me." That's why characters like Ramona and her older sister Beezus are favorites among all generation of readers. In this exclusive video interview, Mrs. Cleary talks about her own struggles with reading, and how she was inspired to eventually become a Newbery-winning children's book author.

"I am a tutor of children in grades K-6, and your articles are ALL very interesting and exactly the type of professional reading I have been looking for."
