Reading Rockets offers a wealth of reading strategies, lessons, and activities designed to help young children learn how to read and read better. Our reading resources assist parents, teachers, and other educators in working with struggling readers who require additional help in reading fundamentals and comprehension skills development.
Eric Rohmann
Eric Rohmann's luminous style of painting was first seen in his wordless fantasy, Time Flies. It is just as evident in books he creates using other techniques. Regardless of the medium, this artist/author creates books for a range of readers that are fantastic and engaging.
Of four kittens, only one is really excited about the possibility of snow but inspires the others to enjoy it when it finally comes. Bold line and simple form combine with straightforward text to create a captivating kittens’ world.
A boy journeys to an island filled with big cats where he begins a nighttime adventure until it is time for the cats to sleep and the boy to return home.
Soon after sleep eludes Clara, a fish named Asha floats through the window to share friendship and adventure in this gentle fantasy.
Rabbit always thinks of things to do even though they often lead to trouble. When Mouse's toy airplane gets stuck in a tree, Rabbit's animal ladder is sure to release it — with very funny results in this Caldecott Medal-winning book.
Otho was born with a pumpkin for a head, and so when he 'heads' out for adventure, it is only that which goes. This offbeat adventure is fast-paced, quirky, and very funny.
When a bird flies into an exhibit of dinosaurs, the museum walls and the bones begin to change to prehistoric times. The amazing fantasy comes full circle to a satisfying conclusion.
Proceeds from the sale of books purchased at Amazon.com help support the Reading Rockets project. Thank you!
